Image output
The scanner outputs either compressed or uncompressed raw data to your application.
This ensures the highest possible image quality for all kinds of applications. Use your
scanning application to select an image format in which to save the image data.
The bundled software applications can output a variety of popular image formats,
including:
TIFF (single- and multi-page)
PDF via Readiris
BMP
JPEG
Brightness and Contrast Control
Brightness and Contrast Control provides customers with the ability to create their own
custom color tables to meet any unique scanning need. Once a color table has been
created, it can be downloaded to the scanner and used in production. The color tables to
be used for front and back images are set independently. When scanning, only one color
table can be applied to each image (front or back). The same color table can be used for
both the front and the back, or use one color table for the front and one color table for
the back. These tables can be easily managed by capture applications.
Simultaneous Output
The i30/i40 Scanners scan in color, but can output in color, grayscale, or bi-tonal
images; grayscale and bi-tonal images; or color and bi-tonal images without further
processing required by the host.
Multi-Feed Detection
Consistent with other Kodak scanners is the option for length checking (maximum
lengths). This allows the Multifeed Detection system to be used in applications where
document thickness may vary and provides an extra level of confidence when scanning
similar length documents.
